ive heard that the way the exhaust manifold on the 2.4 is designed that a header is not very benficial and that the gain is more in the pipe size and having it free flow, would it really make a BIG diff if i had stock manifold but 2.5" pipe from header back with free flow cat and mufflers, not trying to save money here really, but need to know if this is true, really i cant see losing all that much, in the end its still pipes flowing down to the pipe, exhaust spends more time in piping then the manifold...thanks

no 2.5" pipe unless you are using nitrous oxide or boost
the stock manifold restricts exhaust flow
its designed to head up the catylitic converter faster

2.5" works nice with that motor
