Just seeing what everybody has. I'm just looking for a cheap, workable system. I'm contemplating just making my own like I did on my RS, but wanted to see what you guys said. With a quick search, I found this:

Does it work well? I'm leery of buying aluminum for the heat factor, but then again, this isn't my racecar (that's what the Z's for.

)
Any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks

what diameter piping is that?
You can buy bends off ebay and piece together your own kit too.
anything more then 2.5" on our cars is non beneficial, at least that's what I've read.

Im sorry, you must not have read this part of my post. It was stated on jbody, and I was merely repeating it

I mean no attitude if i had shown one. Yes it was stated. But untill you try, you never really know. I may not get an optimum amount of power, but my gas mileage has improved quite a bit, even before using the acetone trick. So for me, its worth it. Afterall, my average commute is about 140 miles a day.

He was stating that basically there is no performance edge over a 2 1/2" piping and a 3" piping intake tube. It always comes down to your throttle body and then next your cylinder head.
Just keep it normal and go 2 1/2" and call it a day...

I built my own. I wasn't willing to spend $75+ dollars for a simple piece of aluminum tube.
James, how exactly did you do it? I was looking at it yesterday and figured I'd just a simple piece of PVC pipe or something and throw a filter on it. Since the rubber hose from the t/b runs so far, I figured a short piece of pipe and a proper sized filter would do it. If you can, let me know how big of pipe you used and what filter you used (part # if you got it). Thanks

Intakes are cheap. Unless you want something special, just buy one. It's not worth your time trying to make one.
I bought an el-cheapo brand Honda Accord setup on Ebay, and a K&N universal filter. I cut the tubes to fit and used the silicone connectors that came with the intake. You can probably find a 3rd gen one for cheap on ebay.
This is why California sucks. If its not CARB approved, its illegal

. Its either $190 for the Injen intake, or $260 for the AEM intake. Luckily, I found a used AEM intake in the classifieds for $125 shipped, so I managed to save myself some dough

Because California is retarded.
