I am planning on getting a P&P on my head soon and I was wondering if it is worth the $90 to get the cometic head gasket or just pay $30 and get a standard MLS head gasket, what do you guys think?
Thanks
When I was doing mine I bought a MLS Cometic Headgasket (ended up somehow losing it before the installation).
I'd do it...is it necessary, no but what's the $60 gonna hurt for a stronger gasket?

I have my P'n'P head on the way. The first thing I did after ordering the head was order my Cometic gasket. While it's not a requirement to use a Cometic, especially since we have a MLS gasket from the factory, I trust those guys a hell of a lot more with my motor after the build than I would GM. If your JUST adding the P'n'P head then its not as big a deal. If you are going to add the head and boost the car later I'd say go for the Cometic now. Oh and while your at it pick up a set of ARP headstuds (sponsor plug sorry.) The factory bolts are torque-to-yield so they can't be re-used. ARP is the best replacement option because they allow for easy head changes in the future.
No offense to the GM guys that gave me this amazing factory freak motor but I don't want a gasket to destroy a few months work and a huge monetary investment. I'm sure you'd feel the same way in my place.

The cometic gaskets are GOOD gaskets and I would just go ahead and do it.
I was a retard, and now I'm permanently banned.
