can anyone help me out and tell me where to i can buy a bigger throttle body for a 2.2L 2200?
no need for it right now bro without supporting mods, it would be pointless without some head work and ignition upgrades. look in to little things like a header and exhaust to start you off on things!!!
hondas are like tampons.....every pu$$y needs one...
mildly built 99' ln2, eagle h-beam rods, wiseco forged alum. pistons, cusco oil catch, t3/t4 super 60 garret, tial 40 mm wastegate, hp tuners, prothane mount inserts, 2.5" exhaust.
yea i have all that i have header exhaust intake stuff
ok well great but like i said u need some more supporting mods before you go looking to add a throttle body, i mean u can but really what is it gonna do without a little head work. if it means that much u can grab up a 2.3l throttle body from a grand-am and throw that on but ur gonna have to modify the throttle cable wheel to get it to work right, thats what i am running but like stated I have supporting mods to back that up.

LIke mad camz or turbonator? We are trying to save you some money here dude. Save your cash and spend it on something that will make a difference. Like some underglow lights or something.
ok cool thanks for your help guys
i say f*** the nay sayers...
Don't know if you can buy a bigger one for the 2.2 but maybe you could have a machine shop bore a stock one out for you.
oh and I'm not sure OVH Freak know's what he's talkin about cause the 2.3 TB only fits the 2.4, not your application...
um...thats wrong, the 2.3 TB is a nice sized upgrade for the 2.2L you just have to add a vacuum port, and make sure the throttle cable works right...
You can get a 2.3 for about $50....which is worth it....if you are going to drop the $400 RSM wants....you better have some more mods to get your moneys worth...

hey bro look at my pics in my profile, thats a 2.3l throttle body and it bolts up just fine other than moding the wheel.

Yup..i had the 2.3 tb on mine as well..very nice upgrade...I love when peopel talk without a clue...
mmm.....yeah....ok so i stand corrected... sorry freaky baby
I didn't realize that would fit on the 2.2...
then go with that....i still say f*** the nay sayers
well after you had installed it did you feel like there was a noticeable difference?
Your not going to notice a night and day difference without going to something like Boost or Nitrous
You'll pull more air in but you arent going to notice a huge increase in power
well i know that but i mean if you gain power at all your bound to feel some difference if you didn't why would you do it?
i go for power not apperance
plus i hear turbocharging a 2.2L i hear is suicide
Dave MoNtAgE wrote:well after you had installed it did you feel like there was a noticeable difference?
you will notice more of a top end gain and less torque off the line. at least as far as my butt dyno goes! i do want to take it to a dyno though and see if we actually get any benefits from it. oh well till then we will just go with what we think!
well atleast its somthing than nothing

ok its totally not suicide at all, just look a OHV notec hes got a turbo LN2 along with plenty of other guys on here. Also i think that cavalierguy2002 ran 8psi on a stock bottom end for a while, basically you just have to do some research. Anyway just as long as you do an overall build and make sure to address the weak points of the motor just like the head. Our heads are a huge bottleneck of this motor so a great port and polish both on intake and exhaust sides. Maybe some new valves and a new hybrid setup that madjack has for the valve train and you have yourself a good head. Well along with an MLS head gasket and some good pushrods and your set.
thats good to know cause i wanted to turbo it in the future
Dave MoNtAgE wrote: plus i hear turbocharging a 2.2L i hear is suicide
wow, thats all i have to say. Do a search for 2200 turbo's and see what us OHV guys are doing you might be suprised. You can build ANY engine to run boost.
yea if you have the cash to build the entire motor.
i know this
i've done a turbo build before
the 2200 can easily handle 250 hp stock...with a good tune,,,,,,as for the tb..its a piece to the puzzle
yea and there are alot of pieces.
well after getting all the support mods i need then turbocharging
what kinda numbers would i expect?with stock internals?
it all depends on what kind of boost you run, it also depends on other things. Those kinds of questions are almost impossible to answer because so many things come into play.
good point
i was looking to start out around 9psi
maybe 10
but is that possible on the stock internals?
K...lets end this thread and please read a little bit, if we are going to be talking boost. Boost pressure is really a useless number, 10 psi on one turbo will be diffrent then 10psi on another. CFM is what really matters.
