Okay guys, since this is the only place I know of that's most familiar with the Super 3800, I'm turning to you on this...
For a while now I've had the idea of swapping a 3800 V-6 into a S-truck, and recently the suggestion that I try a Super 3800 would be closer to ideal for what I want (4.3L power, 3.4L economy). This is very tempting but for one small problem: The coolant outlet neck is on the wrong end of the engine! This is where old memories of engine design & operation class recall how on the Series-II 3800 the manifold seemed reversible (Could be turned 180*) and used like it was for a longitudinally-mounted app.
So my question goes: Can the intake manifold alone on the Super 3800 be reversed and still have the blower bolt-up with it's snout facing the same way relative to the engine as before? And if not, why? Details are welcome.

that website states that the camaros had the 3800V6 in a RWD application. seems by their records 1996 was the first year for the 3800V6, 1995 the last for the 3400 V6. might want to do some more research from there. if the M90 blower will fit on a 3800 from a camaro, that might be the better way to model it off of..

WRONG FORUM
and WTF is a super 3800 ?
do some research before asking questions
The supercharged version of the 3800 V-6, as in how the turbocharged version of the 3.8L V-6 in called the Turbo 3.8 or Turbo-6 or GN/T-Type engine, dink! And I thought this was the performance forum, where others that are members here before had done this many times & have spoke of it here.

Technically this should be in the "Other Cars" forum, as it doesnt concern a J-Body.
However, no, If you reverse the LIM on the 3.8s/c you would need to have the snout of the s/c pointing the other direction, away from the accessory belt.
Id look into getting a motor out of a camaro or firebird, as those both had 3800 motors in them. Im not sure if those motors were supercharged at all though. If you get a 3800 NON s/c, youd need the LIM and blower to make it work (im not sure of anything else needed for that swap).
Either way, since what youre doing is custom work, the upper radiator hose shouldnt be a big deal, just a longer hose would be all you need. Changing the thermostat would be a small problem if you ever needed to, suggest slapping a new one in when you do the swap
.
Good luck!
You need to use the heads and up from an L67 to make the charger work. Also, technically, the L67 or newest variant on the boosted 3.8 has very little in common with the old one from from the Grand Nationals and they share virtually no parts. Same goes for the non supercharged 3.8s too. I've never heard of being able to flip the intake and still use the supercharger, and I think it's barking up the wrong tree anyways. Swap in the short block from a 3.4 Camaro and throw in some lower CR pistons, then add on a top end from a 3400 sfi v6. This will be lighter and make as much power as a non boosted 3800, maybe not quite the same torque, but STFU. Going from a Turd.Turd to v6 is going to be enough of a torque gain difference.
I'm of the mindset that 3800s are best used as boat anchors, but then again that is sort of the mindset of the hardcore 60*v6 guys.
Okay, I've gotten allot of stuff that I already knew, and an opinion that's irrelevant to the question (Really, KFLO... If I wanted to go the 3.4 route, I'd be looking for one of the DOHC 3.4L V-6s.), but no exact specific answer.
Matt: Do you mean to tell me that the LIM/blower mounting is specially clocked in a way that doesn't permit the manifold & blower to face opposite to each other relative to how they came together from the factory? I figured already which way I need the blower's snout pointing (Duh!). And isn't the end on which the accessory belt & cradle are mounted considered the technically true "front" of the engine? That's how it always went in my book.
And for the record: The 4th-gen 3800 V-6 powered F-cars never came from the factory with supercharger... although I kinda wish they did. it'd make sense as a "in-between" model. And it'd make achieving this idea a whole lot easier (Not to mention I wouldn't be here asking what I'm asking!). Then again, I also wish the DOHC 3.4L V-6 saw application in the Fiero & 3rd and 4th-gen F-cars as well. See my way of thinking now, everyone?

i could give you some great answers , but your to much of a douchecanoe , and not worthy of them
not to mention you probably dont have the cash to pay for the parts , not to mention to lazy to ask about this in all the right places
i had mentioned the 3800 in the f-bodies because the blower should bolt right up to that same motor. the accessory belts of the f-bodies faces the front of the car, which would also be where the blower would need to face, which would also be the direction the manifold for the M90 should bolt on to the motor. call me crazy, but it seems to make sense to me, unless im missing some sort of vital information...

To use the SC you have to use the heads and intakes from the fwd L67 SC3800 engine. It won't just bolt on to the rwd engine.
No actually its more than the heads.
This was a large topic of discussion in the camaro and firebird v6 forums. Alot of guys wanted to do it and the idea is simply not feasible in the F-Body due to not only the height of the blower (Looking at f-bodies you'll see what I mean....There is a LOT of space in FRONT of the LS1, much less the shorter L92.) ITs simply the fact that the back half of the motor is underneath the top of the firewall. IF you get around that problem you then conveniently run into the issue of now the intake for the blower is at the rear....and 6 inches of that intake snout is trying to occupy the passenger compartment aft of the firewall.
IF you were to put it in the S10 you must have a decent amount of space rearward (which the S10 really does not have as you know who have seen or worked on v6 S10's) to clear that intake snout and still allow ample room for some sort of intake fitting on the end of the snout (which also conveniently comes off the supercharger at a very shallow angle meaning to come back towards the front you will need at least a 120 degree bend, also further adding the required space in the rear.
IT would be a cool project...best bet is to find an L67 and look for an older S10.

Well, so far I've gotten alotta answers related to this, some opinions that were unnecessary (Stick it up your jumper, 97cavie24ls( )!), but still no exact answer. So I'm gonna try it once more, as simply as possible: Does anyone here know if the LIM-alone on the L67 can be reverse-mounted & still mate with the blower (With it's drive) facing the proper way relative to the engine? I"m just talking about turniing the manifold alone around, folks! Will the blower still bolt-up to it, with it's drive-snout facing the accessory-drive, if it's reversed?

Never-mind... I just got a look at Craig Lewis' sig-pic, and judging by the the blueprint-style pic he has of the blower, it may not be possible. Reason I say that is I noticed two additional sleeve-style bolt holes along the outside of the case that were in a off-center position relative to the main mounting flange. They're probably used in mounting to help retain it, so I guess the answer's "No".
Go beyond the "bolt-on".
It is not possible as far as I know. You have coolant passages and PCV passages that will not line up at all. Not to mention the bolt locations will be different as well.
