raising idle RPM

what's up JBO?

recently installed the TTR engine mounts (upper and lower) and the vibrations at idle are ridiculous. so.. i've read that some people raise their idle speeds to 900-1000 RPMs. I guess my question is.. does this negatively affect your ride in any way?

the only negatives are your burning more fuel at idle and if you running an automatic the driving speed when idling is faster

I set mine up to about 850 rpms from the usual 700 or so, at it was enough to make the difference I wanted. If you're really paying attention, the car "pulls at the reigns" a little bit more at a stop light. I actually think there's a noticeable reduction in the lag from the engine from a dead stop, which is nice.

alright..so..

to raise my idle speed... i need to find someone in my area with hp tuners(or some similar program)... as well as some chip/something else to allow me to tune my car??

or can i just take my ride to a shop and have someone tune it for me with nothing else needed to be installed?

..all i have done performance-wise is the engine mounts. might get a cool-air intake sometime in the future but i think that's about it. if i can't find someone to tune my ride i guess i'll just be putting the TTR lower engine mount for sale and installing a factory one. i love the car's performance with the TTR set.. but i need less vibes..

thanks for all the help

Its an '02, you just need someone with HPT to raise it. Though, since you're going to need to get the credits to use the software, you might consider getting it tuned as well, theres not too much that can be done to a stock motor, but theres a few things. I have a 2200, which was tuned by Skunk, the difference was noticible when he was done, but I have no idea what he did lol.

Just my $.02, no sense in paying $99 to just raise the limiter, Id try to get the most out of the cost. Unless you can get a nice person who will do it no charge.
