Hey guys was lookin at some stuff online and i am now questioning the 2.3l head swap i just did. I could only find a 95 2.3l head and not a h.o. or 086 head. At the time i thought that all 2.3l heads had the smaller combustion chambers to increase compression when swapped with a 2.4l block. Does anyody know if this is true or do i really have the right head???
thanks guys i hope i have the right head, or i am pretty much screwed.
All 2.3 have the same combustion chambers, 40cc, which raises a 2.4's compression to 11.37:1. The 086 has the largest valves and runners, the earlier 955 is the next best. the 456 (the 95 style) has smaller runners than the other 2.3's butt still bigger valves than the 2.4. The 456 outflows the 086 until you get above .350 lift. If you had it ported it should flow good. If you used the 2.4 cams you dont have much more than .350 lift so you are ok.
