i was wondering what throttle bodies people are running on here. i have an ld9, and want to invest in a bigger one.
can anyone tell me what tb they are running, and if there was a noticeable power gain? thanks!
Here you go
hopefully OEM will go through with this and get it done, i dont doubt he will because hes brought a ton of good stuff to the j community.
thats a fuel rail... i was wondering about throttle bodies...
A few boosted guys are running a stock LS1 TB, but they are also running aftermarket intake manifolds.

well i have 2.5 inch exhaust all he way back to a borla muffler, no cat, no res, secret cams, msd dis-2, generic intake... and i wanted to expand to a bigger throttle body, but didnt know if it was worth it?
and i have a 2.3 throttle body sitting around, how big is that? and how big is my stock ld9? in mm i mean?
thanks!
and add a pacesetter 4 to 1 header to that, sorry, forgot that one!
rsm 62 mm a couple around i know some one who will be selling pretty soon if intreasted
8 psi with m62 and IAT under 100
i personally feel that 58mm is all a n/a 2.4 will ever need.
smgmotoring.com is where i got mine.

look at the hole on your manifold and measure the diameter there. Better port match to whatever size the throttle body is by the backside.
a really easy upgrade would be to cut the throttle shaft in half. Decreasing the cross-section of the shaft increases the throttle body's usable area.

They only have a 62mm for the 2.2L on that site.
I'm running the 62mm tb from RSM along with their ported manifold to go along with the larger throttlebody.
The tb is actually 60.9mm in diameter with a digital caliper measurement though.
On performance gains, no.
Of course, the exhaust I've been running on the car has been done in such a way it's smaller in diameter than stock because when they crush bent the elbows, they really stretched it to be smaller in diameter than stock.
So basically, the car doesn't breath.
But that's soon to change with the Atomic exhaust of 2.5 inch though.
If the car breaths good, a larger throttlebody is a must.

Thank you Dave and JBO!

I have a 57mm throttle body, the butt dyno says no results. It does make a neat whooshy sound thouh. I'll be using a vortech 75mm throttle body next with my 086 head and custom ground cams.
well i have a 2.3 TB, so i will install that and see where it gets me... i will be dynoing soon, so i will post up the results! thanks everyone!
i had a rsm 62mm and loved it.
( if you go with a gm supercharger, it will bolt right up to that with no modifaction needed to the s/c throttel body opening)
good luck
I loved my
FDP Billet Aluminum LD9 65mm T/B....... worked GREAT on my Car N/A (with stock cat-back no less), as well as boosted.
