Alright so i'm a newb,2003 cavalier 2.2 ecotec.I was going to start upgrading my ignition but someone on this site told me unless i have a turbo stock is more than enough.so that's scrapped.i put on a short ram intake, and some ngk iridium plugs.i think from most of what i've seen on this site most of you will suggest a new header,cat-back exhaust, and high flow cat from what i can gather at least. well i plan on doing all that, but what other mods would any of you suggest doing along with that?i've seen alot of talk about engine mounts and it sounds good.i've also heard about underdrive pulleys?worth it?and do the engine mounts do anything? any advice and other list of fairly reasonable mods (no nitrous or forced induction......way outta my league.lol)would be greatly appreciated! thanx alot!
you should not make another post to ask the same question you already asked...
the only thing i asked bfor was should and to what would i upgrade my ignition?in the newbies section of forums.on this forum i was asking what else i could do bsides ignition, since unless i have a turbo apparently is pretty pointless.i'm pretty sure that i did'nt ask a question twice in this forum.....i was only asking for advice.
i guess what i'm really wondering is can anyone give me like a specific order in which what mods should be done and when?does it matter?any helpful replies would be greatly appreciated
You can to them in whatever order your heart desires.

Yes, those all sound like a good start for making a few more ponies, and I know this is the performance section, but suspension upgrades such as; sway bars, strut tower bars, struts, and springs would also be something you could do.
You've hit a good many of the engine mods available without cracking it open, so other than that, suspension and brake, and aesthetic mods you aren't left with a whole lot more to do. However, the best way to make power is a turbo....
best mod u will do bein' n/a I THINK; is getting a tune!
WiGM-Tuners member.
intake
exhaust (header, cat, resonator, muffler and all piping)
upper and lower motor mounts
trans mounts
short throw shifter (if applicable)
injectors (+ tuning)
LE5 intake manifold swap (NEED injectors AND tuning for this)
a-arm bushings
sway bar upgrade
suspension
a tune is something i should wait to do until i've done most of those mods correct?won't i gain the most from it if i've done the most to the car?also is a tune something i can do myself?i've heard of people using performance programmers to do this
u can put a s/c on that ecotec

x2..
1: throttle response
2: 2.5" piping will improve high end pull
3: no more car jerking, better grab off the line and after shifts
4: quicker gear grabs
5: nice feeling more than anything
get 6 and 7 and a 62mm throttle body and THEN tune it right there and then!
wow.def thought i'd never see this thread again.but good advice is always welcome!thanx spalattero.have the intake, working on the exhaust+header, can't do trans mounts or short shifter as it's an auto, but am getting a b+m shift kit, motor mounts are on the way (rksport-lower dogbone +top insert),and still have'nt done my research on injectors or intake manifold yet(walk before ya run kinda thing!lol)was looking into bigger throttle body but kinda like to do everything else listed first and tuning after all that def......workin on it. who knew there was so much to all this?!
Don't do a top insert, just get a straight one piece mount like
THIS
should be some for sale on the org, look around..
i like my upper insert just fine.
although I do have a newer mount
The upper insert isn't for the eco, buy the replacement
by god ur right.....guess i should've researched that a little more....
unless your above 10psi an aftermarket ignition will do nothing for you
