would the secret cams cause my car to hit the rev limiter? its an auto. if not i guess its time for a rebuild kit for the trans. because its hitting the rev limiter. any thoughts?
Are you talking in neutral??
no sir. took it for a ride and finally got on it. i'd say it was in third punched it, down shifted to second and it hit the limiter twice. i will say it pulls more and its faster. i do have the HO mani also.
Good lol, I have seen post's like this then the person says it does it in neutral/park or whatever.
Hmmm, Not too sure. I would still run through the tranny tho. Just to be sure it is good as well.
thats what im thinkin because the trans was slipin a bit every once in awhile before i did what i did to it. but still it never hit the limiter stock when it sliped a bit. im thinkin about raisin the limiter a bit to 6500-6800 when i can.
LOL my motor with the secret cams hit the limiter alot since it reved too fast for the ecu
it was great
The trans wasn't slipping at all either. It's hard to explain how it feels when the trans slips, the car doesn't move as fast, but the revs go up

the tranny guy i know tells me the trans should shift no matter what before hitting the limiter or the trans is slipping. said you can have all the power you want but the trans should shift since its auto. he said since its hitting the limiter theres more power, it should or might bark the tires hitting second if the trans wasn't slipping.
i do think it hit the limiter before it thought about shifting.

Technically true, but not true. The transmission is matched pretty well to what the car has...... or at least what it has when it rolls out of the factory. So, when you upgrade the power on it, you'll have more power and the computer won't have the pressure high enough. It'll shift, but won't do so quick enough for the amount of power. Same way would worked opposite for me when my GTP would chuck the supercharger belt off. It would shift harder because it was programmed to shift under boost.
But your tranny guy is right... your trans does shift, eventually. But you don't want that, you want it to shift now. Hitting the rev limiter slows you down.

^^^well i'll look into the shiftplus before rebuilding trans.
