Figured out 2 wire knock sensor

Well i just made a thread asking why the knock sensor wire wasn't putting out voltage. Stupid me wasn't using my head. Thought a little bit and figure out the knock sensor is was creates the voltage. Any way i rewired the 2 wire knock sensor like the 99+..... Well i erased the codes that i had. Started it up let it idle no check engine light. I was like hmm. So i shut it back off and started it agian. No light still. So i left dad's and went to go down to my house like 3-4 miles. Still no light so i went to town. About a mile futher and the check engine light came on. Looked at the code reader and it was a 405. Well i beat on it and knock spark knock like i was getting let alone i was able to lug it in 5th doing 25 30 just fine. I was like wtf the knock sensor must be working. Any way i drove about 15miles and no code for the knock sensor popped up.

The setup is a 2000 2.4 5speed swap
1999 sunfire
running off a 97 computer and harness
I was throwing codes for the knock sensor because i wasn't going to change it to a one wire since i was going to do the 99 reflash.. I was also throwing codes for egr and rear o2 sensor.

But so far the only one i've got was the egr code. I was suppose to get the reflash in the morning. But my water pump is leaking like hell now so i'm gonna have to do that instead. Along with secret cams.

I'll do some more testing and check but as far as i can tell it is working on the 97 pcm repinned as a 99. I'm not sure if it is retarding the timing right though. As i have no scanner but it does have more power. I'll update this tomarrow and see if it is still doing good.

Also if anyone knows this when the knock sensor is unhooked and you start the car the code comes on right away. Along with if you clear it. It will come right back on after a few miles.
