Yup it'll work but you'll have to use HPTuners to tune the car for the supercharger and other things are involved with the installation too.
The GM reflash won't work for your year car or the injectors.
There's a subject about this in the boosted section of the JBO.
I'd advise that you read it, study it, and then make a decision if you want to go ahead with the purchase.
I've got a 1997 Z24 and will have my hands on one of the M45 'chargers in about a month. It's almost paid for.
And good luck with your decision.

Thank you Dave and JBO!

You have to use different injectors than the ones that come with the kit and either run some kind of FMU or aftermarket tune. I cant remember if you have to use a different map sensor or not...
Also... if putting that charger on makes you alternator spin the other direction like the one for eco's does... your gunna want to do something about that to keep it from overheating... (on eco's poeple just usually but a cobalt SS alternator)
People have done it so the information is here... but with the older 2.4's (like I have too) it's not just a bolt on and it will end up costing a bit more than it does for the newer 2.4 engines...
you cannot utilize the 2 bar map sensor that comes with the kit. you'll have to keep using the stock 1 bar.
I must confess... I feel like a monster!
so should i invest in a cobalts alt. if im putting the gm supercharger kit on a 04 5sp cav
Course it will fit...but you need the 2000 plus small starter and remove the egr. Then the tuning/fuel injector issues stated above. This thread is the first I have heard about the alternator situation though.
