98 shortblock to bump compression in a 97 Cavi
Thursday, February 25, 2010 8:14 AM
Hey all, I need some tech help here. I have a 97 Cavi that is a short track car. The current short block is toasted, I have read that 98's have a different piston that when combined with a 97 head will rasie the compression. Does anyone have any numbers as far as piston volume, head cc etc.?

Also will a barebones 98 2.2 shortblock interchange into a 97 car with all 97 long block parts? Keep in mind this is not a daily driver, I can fabricate things, Dont care about emissions, can wire, and can edit PCM's. I just want to make sure the interchange is correct.

Any insight at all would be great, thanks. Ryan
