Fuel tank plastic lines and hard lines
Tuesday, March 09, 2010 10:29 AM
So, It looks like I am needing to change out my plastic lines coming off the fuel pump because both the return and feed are kinked like 3 inches at the end(by the filter). Now I know they can not be changed up by the pump, but I was wondering how would I connect a hard line to that plastic line? The connector I have listed below I am going to use to connect to my booster pump.

I got that part figured out, but how do I connect the plastic line to a new fuel hard line? Any suggestions?

Thanks.

If it were me I would use a multi-barbed hose fitting to 3/8 tube flare adapter. Then press the barbed end into the plastic line right at the sending unit. Then, run metal line down to your fuel filter.

You can get ends similar to the quick connect style you're using that are made to slip on to the end of a plastic line. They are found in repair kits. You can also buy hard lines with the proper tube bead to accept the quick connect.

The repair fitting is similar to this.

The hard line is usually called a filter repair kit.

Here is some more info that might help.
