the 2200 and 2.2 are inherently the same engine... (both share the engine code LN2)

the eco head is duel overhead cam
the LN2 is push rod driven with a cam located in the block.

you will never be able to set timing with an DOHC head on an OHV Block

Maybe you can turbo it with some weed whackers after the swap...

PJ, you're an idiot. Everyone knows its not a direct bolt on!!!! You've got to use the Ecotec head gasket, flipped over and faced the opposite direction and use the timing belt from a 1996-1999 Dodge Spirit 2.1 liter engine! Damn rookies!!!

But so are the LN2 and the L61 (they both share the name 2.2)

In 1995, the Eco was only a glimmer in the eyes of Vauxhall

^ ^ ^ ^ True, but the Eco's lineage dates back to the late 70's with Opel. The 1.8L and 2.0L OHC motors in the Sunbird (2.0L was also available in DOHC fashon, just not in a Sunbird) were also part of the family, more or less making the 1.8L OHC Sunbird the Ecotec's Fasha as far as the J-body community is concerned.

while that may be true... the only 2.2 in a J in 1995 was an LN2

I think he means a 2.2L LN2 out of a 95, not an ecotec head out of a 95. Or at least I hope so, although it really doesn't matter haha.
