whats the PN for the Comp spring? I work at an auto parts store and got a master catalog so I can post the specs of the spring.

i dont like how the base is smaller.
i hope we find out they work though... it'd be nice to not have to spend $600 on a dual valve spring setup.

From what I can see, our choices are to either go smaller or bigger, our spring size is fairly unique as far as aftermarket springs go. I have been searching for a spring to use with my W41's because I don't want to pay $20 a spring for the GM HO's and I don't want to cheap out for the NAPA ones.

Yeah what Comp springs are those? And how much do they run per spring?
Paying someone to install parts and bragging about it being fast, is like watching someone bang your wife and being proud to raise their kids.
well if ron siebenick had any more NHRA (rocket parts) springs we could all use those... but he doesnt.
so were stuck... $500 for supertech VW DVS's... or $600+ for mantapart DVS's.
We all need somebody to believe in something...
I can GM HO springs for 16 a peice under employee discount;.. but thats still outragious $256 + tx
$12 each, not too bad...

Thanks, I will look in the catalog when I get home later.
Since I have not taken my head, or any head, off an LD9 I don't know how much smaller the spring can be. Is it easy/common to modify the spring perch/base area on the head? I'll also post the specs later of the springs I THINK might work, one is bee hive.

well i removed the ld9 springs and attempted to install on the intake. they dont fit over the valve rotator or the exhaust shim. but i wonder if there are any shims or rotators that would fit our valves and these springs.
according to my findings we can do without the rotators.

what about using a base cup or somthing to keep the spring from digging into the head persay?
yeah you'd have to.

maybe the 4.6l mustang spring cups will work too. i'll order a cpl and check fittment. if i can find them
Well the springs I picked out of the Comp book are the ones you posed, PN: 26123,
There are titanium retainers available for them.

So the base I.D. is too small?
I also have a Crane Cams book, I know they are out of business but many places still have their products. The front runner I picked out is: PN: 99891

i believe those are the mantapart springs? i wanna say that's mantapart's ebay seller name, but i could be wrong.

yes, that is mantapart and they are trustworthy. ive bought from them online several times now.
but, those springs are better paper weights than they are being used for a purpose. unless you have secret cams or you do not care about max lift before coil bind and run HO cams on them they are basically worthless.

He also has the Dual Valve spring w/ titanium retainers for sale. They are a bit spendy for me right now, anyone know anything about those?

lol we'll soon find out all we need to know about them
