Ok so i got a 95 cavalier thats got a rod ready to fall out... I plan on buying a used 2.2 for it and i want to rebuild that motor over time then when its done put it in the cavy. I want to build it as much as possible while still having it streetable. I know for sure I want the head reworked, but i also want to build the internals of the motor, I would like to put out 225ish. I would prefer non turbo. so my list of questions is:
1) Where is a decent place to get bearings, rods, pistons, pushrods, a cam and the 1.6:1 rockers?
2) What am i going to need to do to tune the car so it runs properly?
3) Kind of vauge but just a guestimate on price for anyone who has something similar?
Im sorry if this was somewhere on here all the build threads I found were on oval and circle track cars... I still want a dd out of it just with a was that a quick cavalier feel to it. Any help would be very helpful. On a side note if anyone has a 94 or 95 2.2 for sale let me know the only one ive found is 450 for a motor with 160000.
Honda's are like tampons, Every PU$$Y has one!!!
my opinion is that you misspelled it, and meant LS2
info, 225 whp really isn't going to your idea of "street-able"
opinion: Drop a 3400 v6 in it, It's bolt in practically.
- Your not-so-local, untrained, uncertified, backyard mechanic. But my @!#$ runs
225 N/A would be a challenge without boost.
Swap to a 2.3 HO! Stock HO puts out 180hp. If that's not enough swap in a set of W41 cams makes 190hp stock. If that still isn't enough just add a 50shot to it and that should put you some where in the 215-245 range.
^^^Or just search in general
And work on your grammar! I could barely make sense of the beginning of your second paragraph!
Go beyond the "bolt-on".

That's because nobody on here has done it. Even 225 at the crank would hardly be "streetable", as it would be VERY difficult to reach that on pump gas...
I don't think you know what you're even asking for; maybe set your sights a little lower to get more experience first?
