hi, well i have problem. the car been sitting all summer because i'm redoing interior. i just started it once in a while. last time i drove it was when i got it out of storage, around 50km everything went fine. now i see white smoke at tail and missing coolant! i tested the pressure in each cylinder and have equal 270psi in each cylinder. wouldn't the pressure be low if gasket was shot??? i have the MLS gasket by the way. its a 2.4l
also the car sound like a wrx, and no power. looks like its not running on 4 cylinder.
here is a vids:
any help would be appreciate
thanx
Dang not sure man, the smoke that I see is black coming out of your tails, when my hg started to fail I was seeing white smoke. So since your seeing white smoke as well you may have an issue. In your overlfow tank does it look milky in there or anything? See any oil in there? You might want to take a look at what your car is doing when it is up to operating temp.

yeah on the vids its black. oil and coolant are not mixing each other. oil level is good since i got the car out of storage. i'm pretty sure i'm burning coolant, but then the pressure test wouldn't be low?? that what i'm not getting. i previously had a bad gasket and then a cracked head. but now i dont get it. can coolant leaks into cylinder and not affect pressure?
holy @!#$, 270psi on the cylinders? wtf pistons do you have?!

huh... i have 10.5:1 wiseco 40 overbore, running the 086 head.
black smoke is unburnt fuel. blue is oil, and white is coolant. can you do a cylinder leak down test? that generally tells more about whats going on than a compression test.

i dont ha ve the tool to do a cylinder leak test
i think i'm just going to change the HG with the SCE one and be done with it.
just cut a spark plug in half and weld an air fitting to it. either that or spend the $5.00 on the tool itself.
all you do is screw it in the spark plug hole and hook up an air compressor, fill the hole with air and listen for where it is coming out.
and hell yes id like pics!!!!

i have the fitting from the compression test kit, but i dont have a compressor....
here is a pics of my pistons specs
there is also some tool/gauge that you would put on your coolant tank and be able to test for exhaust gases, mech. shop next door had one thats how i found out my felpro was blown... also i like your gauge setup looks good.
R.I.P. Brian Klocke, you will never be forgotten
what does the tolls look like?
thanx, the gauges are from speedhut
i took the head off today and it looks like it was leaking between gasket layers. i had coolant in cylinder #2.
i will receive my SCE copper head gasket next week. i hope this one is gonna be better!!
