ecotec valvetrain help

someone tell me there is a trick to the ecotec. ive changed valves in motors from 5.7l chevys to 1.3l suzuki motors but cant seem to get these damn valve springs back on. i used the common cheap tool. put a bundle of rags under the head of the chamber i was doing and tryed to press it on, couldnt. borrowed two different valve spring compressors from a shop my friends in, they wont clear the top of the head so they wont compress. is there a special tool i need or a trick? thanks for any help

bump, i just got another tool that is the small eniversal compressor and once again it will not fit because it is hitting the head casting
