i know im coming up on a turbo build. but i wanted to start a topic on all the modifications ppl have done and the power associated with said mods. i dont care idf u just lisrt the mods. show pics and explain them, its up to you. but i think this is a good thread to make sure ppl who are modding dont miss mods that other ppl have, or if theres something you have heard about but never done bring that up as well. thank you.
Perhaps you should look at the stickies in the boost forum?
i find it amusing that SHOoff has nothing better to do but follow me around & be an unhelpful dick in even cross-forum. - Jon Mick
Very few people actually dyno every modification they do to there cars.....so it would be super hard to get an accurate list going.
However, mods listed in profile, dyno in signature.
Without having easy/cheap access to a dyno I have a feeling most people won't have dyno gains for each mod they have done. Especially because when people do mod their cars and get them tuned/dynoed they have done more than one thing to the car. You would have better luck looking at what people have done to their cars (in their profile) and seeing what they have dynoed.
i was reallty just going for like lists of mods. or if anyone knows of an uncommon mod that hasnt been tried by any of us? and estimates of power increases (ex. definitly more low end grunt)
the problem is noone wants to admit they spent money on a paper weight. I've been here long enough that I've seen a guy talk about how much better/faster/harder his trans shifts since he installed an electric power programmer type thing..... on a transmission that was not electronically controlled. It's literally impossible for it to have any effect but he swore up and down it was the greatest thing he ever did. Same goes for those guys buying the Jet modules and claiming a huge power gain, it's proven to useless. The Jet module basically makes your car think your at 50% throttle when your only at 35%, so not only can you achieve the same result for free (push the pedal a tad further) but at full throttle it does absolutely nothing because it's already full throttle.
What people say isn't worth @!#$
k. i dont think were on the same page. tell me what you have done to your car and what kind of power did you notice? thats what im, looking for. not an argument....
2200:
-Header helped a lot (even the cheap ebay one I bought)
-deleted the AC and definitely gained in the low end
-E3 plugs smoothed everything out. Still waiting on fuel economy results
This what you're looking for?

think you are missing the point. not everyone is going to dyno their car after adding every little thing there is. i can go take a massive crap and tell you i am faster because of the weight loss.

thank you that is the ind of stuff im looking for.
Well changing from a 2.7" to a 2.6" s/c pulley I picked up 8whp. Thats about the only mod I did that I dynoed before and after. As for the rest of my setup this yielded me 190whp.
GM Supercharger (MP45)
2.6" s/c pulley (Smooth flow Pulleys)
Custom alternator and crank pulley (thanks MD LD9)
Pacesetter armor coated 4-1 header
Toucan Cold Air Intake: customized to fit the supercharger
Snow Performance Stage 1 alky kit - 225ml/hr nozzle
OBX TBS - Bored out to 60mm
Stock TB - Bored to 58 mm
SPEC Lightweight Flywheel - 7lbs
2.5" Custom exhaust pipe
2.5" Downpipe
Magnaflow Race Series 3" muffler
Magnaflow 2.5" high flow cat
A/C Delete kit
LSJ 378cc injectors
HPTuners
Overall that really doesn't tell ya much, cause everyone knows a supercharger, larger TB, bigger exhaust and some other stuff is going to give u more power. How much more each mod gives, I will never know.
if you went turbo set up instead of super, would you yeild more hp? im aiming for mid to high 200's and im doing a bottom end all forged lsj injectors racetronix pump. full 3 in straight pipe, t3/t4 turbo kit 50 trim. ? and some other little goodies/
i have a stock motor with a 57 trim turbo on it running 12.8 i estimate the whp levels to be around 300 ill find out on the 13th when i dyno it

Yes you will get more with a turbo, hence why I am going that route now. Although you have an eco so the mp62 is a much stronger s/c and I think mid 200's with a built motor is easily attainable.
