1995 2.2L to 97 2.4L Swap in progress, opinions needed

Ok, so I have a 2 door 2.2L 1995 Chev Cavalier with the 3 speed trans. I have a 2.4L and a 4 speed trans. engine from a 97, trans from a 99. HAS ANYONE DONE THIS SWAP? i have the complete wireset from a 99 z24, I have stripped the 95 shell down to the frame, i have the new wires ran, a few problems that I have ran into is the keyless entry modual, the fuel pump wiring, pulled a fuel pump out of a 96 2.2 sunfire, wondering if i can make that work, wires are different colors and there are "extra" white and black wires, any help on that would be great, also, the computer is out of a 98 grand am with a 2.4 and 4 speed, would that run this setup or should i look for someone to reprogram it, i know that its the same part number as the computer need to run the motor. I want to make this work cause Ive never seen this swap done, not so much for the power gain, but more for the fact that it can be done(considering the majority of the car is altered but thats the fun part).

you will have issues with ur fuel injectors, and knock sensor for the 97 motor because they are designed for use with the 96-98 style ecu's and harnesses. now... i would say just swap the the 99+ style stuff but you said u have a 98 ECU, this will not work with the 99+ injectors and knock sensor.

i believe all the bastardization will end up being a headache in the long run.... easiest thing i can tell you is to just go find urself a 97 or 98 J-BODY 2.4 ecu and harness.

If it takes forever.... I will die trying. Underdog Racing

I still have the injectors portion of the 97 wire harness that came with the motor, is there any way i could splice it into the 99 harness? i really dont feel like gutting out another z24, they are kind of hard to find around here. but if its the only way to make this work then i guess I'll have to, i was planning on taking the computer to autozone and having them order one programed to run the 97 anyways.
