crankcase-timing cover vent
Monday, February 28, 2011 6:09 PM
I circle track race a cavalier with the 2.4 liter with the 2.3 oil pump swap. I ran my timing cover vent to the factory housing on front of engine and the hose coming off that housing to a catch can. After a 8 lap race of constently turning left at high speeds (forcing oil to timing chain side) my catch can would have alot of oil in it. The catch can is vented through filter and sometimes was overflowing. I might add I have an 086 head swap done also. Does anyone have a better idea? I thought plugging the timing cover vent and venting out oil cap to the factory housing on front engine

How much oil are you running? how new are this rings? I leave the one to the timing chain hooked up and the one that would normaly go to the intake run that to a bottle in the car, i also only run like 4 qts and this seemed to fix my problem.
