Hi everyone, can someone help me intall an AEM short ram intake in my 2002 cavy 2.2 ecotec 5 speed. I am confuse with the cables/sensors I will have to disconnet from the stock plastic intake, and also I think the hose is kind of short to connect the intake into the valve cover. can someone show me any instructions or the steps I should follow. And...can someone post pics of their aem short ram intake so I get the idea. Thank you.
not an aem but it's the same thing. if your tube for the pcv on the valve cover isn't long enough go down to the parts store with the tube they sent you, and get the same size tubing in a longer section. the aem i know for a fact has grommets for the sensors to plug into.
if you can't install this with the picture i've given you, an hour or two max, and a 6 pack of beer step away from the car and call someone that knows how to use a wrench.
bluecavy, thank you for the info. I do know how to install everything, its just the one cable that comes from the right side of the fuel rail, i do not know where to connect that too. the other sensor(air) my intake have the connector for that one but not the other one(the one that come from the side of the fuel rail.
there isn't a nipple on the tube of the intake about 6 inches from the throttle body? there should be. there should also be a tube to connect the nipple on the intake tubing to the nipple on the end of the fuel pressure regulator.
So the only 1 cable that I connect the intake is the air sensor and the tube that goes connect from the valve cover to the intake right, only those two..., and the one that goes from the fuel rail goes where? thats the one I do not know
if i remember correctly (and it's been a long time) all intakes made for the 03-05 (even the ebay ones) had two nipples and one grommet. the grommet if for the iat. one nipple for the fpr, and a bigger one for the pcv.
to the OP
do you have a picture of said problem?
