a while back i was having a wierd issue with my cooling fans.. when i shut my car off they would run for 5 minutes, 10 minutes, sometimes 20 minutes before they shut off.. i assumed this was a preventitive maintence kinda thing but ive never seen any other cavalies that did this (i use to work at a GM dealership) now they dont work at all and if let it idle too long it overheats. i swapped out the relay and still nothin.. i dont really wanna replace the fans but if i have to then sh*t, i guess ill have to..
has anybody else had this same problem? is it something small or am i pretty much f*cked?

Checked the fuse?

May be the fan too. I had to replace mine last weekend. And on 2k+ cavs its normal for the fan to run after key off if the coolant temp is at a preset temp.
I used HP tunes to check mine. I commanded the fan to turn on and all I heard was the relay click so my problem was obvious.

my 99 sunfire did the same thing and it come up as a pcm malfunction for the fan so i ran mine on a toggle switcha and i just turn it on when im in traffic and works just fine. to check it just tap into the positive wire on the fan and use a jumper wire to touch it to the battery and see if it comes on.
