hey guys, new here. just wondering what the max power is you can make on a stockish ln2 before it blows up? what usually fails? pistons? rods? something else?

stockish to you is different from stockish to me. update your registry so we can see what it is you have done to yours to give you an idea.

What usually fails? Your wallet, motivation, respect for cars, your will to live, that sort of thing. Big question is, what do you plan on doing to it to make more power while remaining stockish?

I think he means internally, what the guts will take before it blows up. No idea on the ln2.

I'm not sure if anyone has ever managed to reach that power level. From what I've seen, the internals are pretty solid. I'm guessing in order to get enough power to break something, you'd need to change some internals. Or add lots of spray.

Power adder would be a turbo. By stockish I meant the bottom end is bone stock. Since no one can just give me a straight answer, look at it this way, say I have a turbo and more than enough fuel and spark, and keep cranking the boost, when will the rods fail? Or pistons...

your registry says your using 30lb/hr injectors, what's your a/f ratio at 18 psi and what's the duty cycle like trying to hammer that much fuel out of that small of injectors?

I could go into details about why people like John, Ryan, or myself have done the things we have with this motor but, you said it best "Why Bother?"

I think that it has been said before that between 250-275 WHP is the safe limit.
