ok i understand that the this motor is a small one everyone is going to tell me y spend my time on it but i like the little motor its very reliable. so i was looking to see if anyone could give me some tips in how to make some more power out of it such as bolt on or a turbo. so far i have an intake, headers, and 2 1/4 exhaust with magnaflow cat and obx muffler. i was wondering if there is any pulleys for it or if throttles i have read that the 2.3 throttle fits it if im not mistaking. well thanx hope to hear some feedback.
turbo it, or spray it.
anything else is basically a waste of time.
what is the best place to gert a turbo kit for it
Ebay

Still not low enough for a signature.
i have heard that the ebay turbos suck though, if i were to go turbo on it will i have to change internals
Just stack some head gaskets and you're good to go
1999 - Cavalier - 5speed - Exhaust - 17" rims - carbon fiber hood - the beater
how much psi will i be able to run on it without doing the internals
Short Answer: None.
Long Answer: Possibly 4-5 psi at the maximum unless you'd like to have NONE of your internals left. Even then, upgrade something in there.
If nitrous is readily accessable by you--and decently priced--that's the route I would go. I ran a 60-shot on my 2200 for years and it never blinked. When I finally tore the motor down to be built, it was still extremely clean; pistons looked great.
I have the same engine as you and here is my setup.Garrett t-3 super 60 turbo, greddy v-spec front mount intercooler.255lph fuel pump.RC injectors, ngk tr-6 spark plugs.full 3 inch exhaust.no cat.has been turboed for a few years now.i have ran it hard at 10-11 psi without a single issue ever.great motor.

Right answer: 8psi seems to be the cap on stock internals. Tuning and fuel delivery is where it counts, boost is less of a shock to a bottom end compared to nitrous. I believe Ryan ran 400-ish hp on a stock bottom end for a few years.
One of my friend have this car. According to him , this is one of the best car on the road.
nick beeler: how much did you end up spending on your set up, you have been running it on stock internals
Yes,it has been on stock internals.I bought the turbo and manifold together from exploited racing.I think they are out of business.but here is a link to a site that has a nice manifold for our engines.http://www.rsaperformance.com/obx-turbo-manifold-header-cavalier-sunfire-22l-2200.html.I have probably spent a couple thousand.the turbo itself new will run you around 600-700.I have the t-3 super 60.my personal opinion is do not go cheap on your set-up.it will cost you in the end.do it right an dyou will get alot of enjoyment out of it.

TRUE TRUE!
Check classifieds. I have a partial turbo kit for sale. $200 for a t3 turbo, manifold, bov, downpipe, dipstick, and some piping
Quit getting caught up in boost numbers. One turbo on 5 PSI could make more than another on 15 PSI. The stock 2200 internals are good to about 260 wheel horsepower - and if you are a good driver with good tires that would get you in the low 13s.
Tune! Dont forget the tune.

Yes... Remember: Boost is nothing without airflow!
Go beyond the "bolt-on".

I think im going to max out my 16G really quick. 20-22 psi!!!!!
Might need to get a 20G over winter, or a Forced Performance Green.
Need a bigger turbo, with the same DSM housings, that way I dont need to make a new downpipe and chargepipe.
ok has anyone tried oout the turbo set up from hahnracing.com i think thats the website
