I'm in the middle of pulling a 2.4 out of a 2000 cavy. Just the engine, not the tranny (auto). Ive gotten it unbolted everywhere and everything unhooked. The problem is that it needs to slide over to the passenger side about an inch more or so to clear a stud on the tranny that goes through the oil pan. Issue is there is no room since the pulleys all hit the frame on that side. Any ideas how to squeeze out some more room or move the tranny in the opposite way?

Remove the stud or try pulling the crank damper.

Remove crank pulley might give you enough room.

mine got stripped once, i finally just said EF it and got out the sawzall.... there just isnt any room there with the auto to try and get a vice grip on the end.
taking the crank pulley off should be common practice on any quad 4 pull if you like ur engine bay paint...
Cut that bitch, then replace the stud once the engine is out.
I would of pulled engine and trans together.

I agree, its not worth the hassle trying to pull it with the stud still in the transmission.
