I have a 1997 cavalier with 2.2 OHV.Looking to get between 140-150 whp with no boost. What are the best ways of going about this any links to sites where to buy the parts would be greatly appreciated.Thanks.

I'd suggest starting with getting some headwork done as stock the head is a little on the restrictive side. Throw in a cam and your typical bolt on's then getting it tuned.

Has anyone done higher compression pistons in the OHV to make more power? You'd need to run 93, and be able to tune the ecu, but that would give you a big bump in power.

Well with modern tuning (assuming 1997 or newer)... you can run ultra high compression and still keep to 93 octane... The limit used to be around 12:1 and that was pushing it, but i think you could higher without issues...

for the O.P. ... i'd say P&P the head, do the roller rocker swap (expect valve train noise), install a better cam, run slightly bigger injectors, and get a good header, cat, piping, and terminate it with a Cobalt SS Supercharged (LSJ Engine) Muffler (all the flow without the noise)... If you want to spend some money, you could also weight reduce the crank, run a light weight flywheel/clutch, and run forged rods and pistons. I'd also recommend Clevite 77 bearings.

then find a good HP tuner. I see your in NC... If you are anywhere near the border of VA (Virginia Beach Area), i know of a really good HP Tuner.

Ive heard about the 2200 piston swap into the ln2.Is it the same bore? I heard it raises compression.Any other things I would have to do to make it work and I found a cam but not sure if i will need different pushrods or have to beef up the valve train. It's from mantapart.Do you guys know any other cams for decent prices? links will help also the same for roller rockers.

mantapart is hit or miss... sometimes you get your parts... sometimes you don't ...
