Wideband sensor location??
Saturday, May 05, 2012 3:41 PM
Just wondering, where the best place to install my wideband sensor into the exhaust would be? The instructions just say anywhere from 9 to 3 O'clock, and 6 being the worst place to put it, I don't think there is clearance to go right straight up at 12, can it go into the side of the downpipe horizontally and be fine? that'd be about the same angle as the upstream sensor for the motor... I just want it to be clear of everything & where it will be accessible.

dont put your sensors in line with each other, the flow of the first could disrupt flow to the second and that would cause false readings. You can put them 18-24" from the start of the exhaust off the head.

Ok, so farther down the line from the upstream, and at a different angle of the upstream so it catches the flow & not disrupted by anything...

18 inches down from the head sounds like you bought one of outs (Ngk)

6 is bad because it lets moisture in FYI

Yeah thats what the papers said, condensation and whatnot.. I've never mounted a wideband though, just wasn't sure if there was a good, or better, or recommended place to put it on a J...
