Well, i think the time might have come.
If i wanted to sell it, what do you guys think I could ask for?
The car only has 70K. No rust as it has been stored winters.
It wouldnt be painted, but most of you have seen the body work done. I wonder if that would hold someone back from buying it?
The interior needs work, and it would be sold with no rims.
So basically, the new owner would need to get it painted, and the interior finished, and add rims.
Any thoughts?

I think you would have a hard time selling with it not being painted. You should at lest get it into primer. Then it would not be as bad.
Plus no rims and tires??? You mean like not there at all? I say pick up some steal's with whatever rubber.
Remember Done cars with nothing to do only get 10K-16K (16K if they are lucky)
Look at the guy now selling the cav with $20K in motor and no one wants it for $10K-$12K.
The guy with the red sunfire and custom turbo setup could not get $10K
The guy with the orange cav with flames, there was not much left to do to that and he could not get 14K.
i dont think the time has come sharon! keep the car! pleeeeeease!!!!!!!!!

Regardless of how much we may think it is worth, you will not get more then the average price for that year/model/milage.
Modifications, especially incomplete, mean nothing.
In fact, considering the state of the car, you will probably get less then market average.
IMO finish it up for summer, enter it into a few shows so it can get seen, and then sell it once the car itself has developed a 'rep'.

I agree...Finish the car to a showeable level. As it sit's not, you will be lucky to grab a buyer.
hey one hot z were u at darknights ? y would the car have to be painted again ? but if u do sell it in primer maybe the buyer would want to change the color so your doing them a favor and that's low k's for that year no rims that's no biggy they ment want to change them but u should have some rubber but i would think everything but no rims at least 8k and up cause it's a 24 but no paint will bring it down a bit but u should wait tell summer that's when people want hot rides just check the trader you"ll see where did u get those's m3 mirrors ? cause there discontinued are they for sale ? ok hot ride talk to u later good luck with sale o yeah and love the front end !

You are looking for a very specific buyer. My guess on price: $8,000 CAD incomplete. If it was complete, I would say $11,000 - $11,500 CAD. I don't think a lot of people would drop anything more than that when they still have to drop $1,500 for a decent paint job, atleast $1,500 for rims, and another $500 or so on interior parts? Thats an additional $3,500 that is required. So $8,000 + $3,500 = $11,500. But who knows... ebay it... i'm sure someone out there will love it and want to finish it up....
At this point, u can't exactly make it stock and sell it... is the car on air ride?
After all the work you've started to put into the car this winter I'd say keep it for yet another season. This way you can enjoy what you started and get noticed for your accomplishments ... then sell it next winter.
I'd say keep the car and finish it! Take your time, I know the house is important to you right now. But dont let it take your hobby away!
Your man have putted in lot of his time into this car and you too. Don't let it go as a waste of time.

KEEP IT!!!!
KEEP IT!!!!
KEEP IT!!!!
after all that work that you have put in it why would you want to do such a silly thing
at least enjoy it for a little while
Hey guys...as much as i enjoyed the car, i think it has to go, because...it was built extreme for the purpose of showing, which i am not doing anymore. It wouldnt be easy to drive this car every day, especially in Markham as i dont want to get hassled by cops all the time. This would be an ideal car for someone who wants to attend shows competitively, and start with a solid base. If i can sell this car for a reasonable price, i will probably end up with the G35 that i've been after for the past two years, or a BMW 325 or 330ci. If I cant find someone to take it as a project car, unfinished, then I will most likely get it primered, get some cheap wheels on there and list on eBay and Autotrader. Sad to see her go, but it's time to move on to new things.
And Ernie, thanks for reminding me about the lug nuts!!! I had totally forgotten them.

I understand theres alot of work into it, but your not gonna get much for a car that all you can see is sheetmetal and bondo, if you painted it at least you might get some decent offers. Just my input here.
I'm in the same boat as you Sharon
I went through the very same thing with my car a couple months ago. Hell i even put it up for sale. Dont do it though, you WILL regret it. My friends reminded me how much i wanted this done and that it was a dream of mine, so i took it off the market. Atleast finish it for this year and drive i around this summer, then sell it if you still feel the same way.
send me some pics and a price....i'm game for a project
I dont think you should sell it after not completing the project, and I believe that you will not find a decent buyer if the car is not complete.
I dont see you getting more than 10K canadian for it, just because of the market and how difficult it is to sell a modified car..
Good luck, best hopes to you.

are you really interested in a sale? i asked for pics and what you'd like to get for it and never heard from you
as it stands right now, i dont think i want to spend the money to finish the project. i may actually be leaving the country to live and work overseas in a couple of years...and i dont wanna keep putting money into this car. i've decided to sell it whole if i can or part out.
brandon sorry for not replying, but i'll talk to you on MSN.

If you part it out, i might wanna look at the hood. Has it been modified or is still ready to go on a cavalier?
Ready to go on a Cav, Darren.
