I have 02 sunfire with 80,000km on it and I was having some trouble starting a couple months back just recently it has got alot worse, almost unbearable so I want to do something about it. Anyone know of a good place to get this looked at in the goderich / london area? or anyone here willing to meet up to have a look? i'm 15 minutes from Goderich 5 mins from Clinton.

just to let you know. the new fuel pump / sender unit is around $750 and its about 2.5-3 hours labour to install by mitchells standards.

i got mine done for alot less than that, but i had a source for the part. when i got the labour done it was at a friends shop and he charged me by what the book said, not by how long his tech took.

Hey there CA ,

Just a quick note , in the event that you have not done the pump yet .

Make sure that the female terminals on the weather plug for the module are well sprung and THOROUGHLY GLEAMING . All-Data has a diagnostic elimination procedure that tests this fault . If you have done the required fuel system testing , I would suggest investigating this next . The original owner of my Sunny had the car into the dealer a number of times with great frustration as the car acted up at no particular time under all conditions which resembled the pump as being the culprit .

Your multimeter and 12 V test light will be necessary of course .
