I don't have any experience in this myslef. But you get lucky doing a search on google. Also youtube seems to have alot of really good tutorials on almost every how to. Might be worth checking out.

You should use MDF wood.
Im not an expert, but ive made some attempts.
To do it first you need to build a frame for the subs.
How you want them angled, where you want the amp etc.
Then after your frame is built, you take a cloth much like pantyhose and stretch it over the frame work
After that you fiberglass over the colth.
After it dries you sand it down and add additional layers etc. till you have it just right.
Then if need be use filler to get it smooth,
Then paint and put it in!

first and foremost, check out:

http://www.fiberglassforums.com

You will be able to find tons of build pics ranging from interior, exterior, audio and general fiberglass builds.

Check out build pics done by HIGHVOLTAGE. Tim does excellent work, and watching his process really gives you a bigger picture on how to get your glass work done. Hit me up if you need any tips too.

Use MDF ... any large box store has it (home depot, lowes, rona, etc). Use a nice size such as 3/4. Glue and wood dowels are your friend to put the pieces together. Screw and nails magnify sound, so if you use them, be sure you'll hear rattles in the box. I used tons of glue and wood dowels for my box with 3/4 inch MDF board.
