im looking for a new or slightly used gas tank for my 96 cavalier 2.2 i live in elmira ontartio and am willing to drive local or meet half long distance.. since i am installing an external msd fuel pump.

Why?

Napa sells one brand new for $140.xx for that price why bother with used?

The plastic ones are 140.... Some parts places don't know that they are interchangeable with the cheaper and newer plastic 2k+ ones... Charging in the 300 to 400 range.....

the plastic tanks can't be installed on a 95-98 unless you change the filler pipe to a 99+ the location is different

i would jet get a new metal one and paint it before you install it to prevent it from rusting as fast

well i looked uop the prices in my regiona nd they want 160 bux plus tax for a new metal one with out the straps so im just looking for a cheap tank cuz mine is rotten. id love to get a plastic tank but ppl are telling me that it cant be done

My point was why buy a used tank? how far are you from having the new-used one rotting out too?
take the hit and buy a new one. it will outlast your car. At the very least clean and paint the used one you'll inevitable get. While the quality isn't nearly the same, I painted my 40+ year old tank and it has yet to have any leaks.

run a plastic 1 but hten you have to change the filler pipe and stuff your gonna look around the same price to buy those pieces used from a wrecker when you can get a nice new steel 1

i'm goin plastic but thats cause i have a 99 and i can get a plastic 1 cheap
