Driving from Cocoa to Tampa at 5:30 am this morning was fun... I had a few nice wind gusts that took me out of my lane. The rain wasn't really a problem, minus the hydroplaning here and there. At least I didn't have to pay tolls... they lifted them for today.
And now it's sunny here in Tampa. A little windy, but no sign of clouds at all.
That was the fastest hurricane ever! I slept through it. lame.
YA...I hbad to wake up early as well to enjoy the early part of the storm...and goddammit now it's cold.....

I live in naples! and it was crazy. I woke up at about 7 and it was still going. After it passed i drove around and you couldn't go any where without having a tree in the road or traffic lights on the ground alot of houses are gone it was really bad here.
I live in Oldsmar, in the morning it was pretty gusty.. I decided to call in along with over 100 other co-workers
It was a gorgeous day out though, nice windy breeze, clear sky, etc.
i was able to get a hold of my mom last night and she said that power was going to be out for a while in sofla. she said our screen for our pool was destroyed and tons of trees down, my friends house down the street had a huge tree go thru her house. this is in south dade, i havent been able to get a hold of my friends in ft lauderdale and hollywood where it was worse but i havent really seen too much news coverage of the aftermath
I hope everyone is alright. I just moved up from west palm beach a few weeks ago so i guess i lucked out. i hope the power and gas stations get back to normal soon. good luck with everything.
Patrick AFB suffered some severe damage to their Marina. Most of the guard railing is gone. They also have a cat walk type thing, out 5 feet into the water and roughly 50 yards long. It too is rather F'd up. Other than that, I really didn't see to much damage here. (Cocoa Beach)

i live in ft luaderdale and my city got rocked. My backyard had my neighbors tree and my screen encloser(spell check) was in my pool. M y car also got severe scratches but luckly i got full covergae and already put in the claim. By the way still no power
north west Broward here. I will claim Coral Springs and Parkland. Total destruction thats all
I can say. Just use your imagination. I have been working security for shell gas station for
the past few days. Just imagine a whole gas pump ripped right out of the ground and more.

palm beach county got hammered i went home this weekend to see it and its pretty tore up
just now they are startign to return power and clean things up a bit...
i was fine here in georgia
