I trying to find a cheap place to crash for two different amature sports events, both with-in a week of each other.

The first is for the Sunshine State Games in Lakland on June 14th. I need to be there at 8am to check-in. If anyone has anything available on the evening of Friday, June 13th in the Lakeland area, would be greatly appreciated.

The second one will be the Florida Law Enforcement and Fire Games, in Bradenton on June 17. Once again check in is at 8 am, so I would need someplace on the evening of Monday June 16th. I had help with this one, but the group I was to crash with back out, the first time in years.

I'd rather be fresh for competition, not tired from getting up hours before and driving from Ocala. Anything much closer to these locations, than Ocala would be much better than driving for hours before competition. I will probably have my daughter with me, as she'd have a fit if I didn't bring her.

Any help here would be greatly appreciated.

i'm almost an hour south of Lakeland. but you can always look online to nearby hotels.

i live in the area so i've never had to look for them myself.

i'm going through there on friday May 30th so i'll check around one or two places if i have time

Well, I just drove down to the Sunshine State Games. It took about 2 hours. Had to leave here just before sun-up.

Well I'm back. I didn't win this one, but I didn't expect to either.

I did get a moral victory, though!

A moral victory? There were seven contestants, including my self, in the 35+ y/o Black Belt Class. I was in category for black belts and I was the only brown belt(1st of 3 levels)! I came in fourth (one place out of the medals), just 0.3 of a point back. In other words, I'm competitive with black belt level. It's taken alot of hard training and an outstanding instructor, Sensei Glenn Kaizer!
