Ok I had to take my girl home yesterday over in Kissimmee/Remington and everything was literally flooded, I had water up to my steelies. So as im driving away the floor gave out and I sunk in while going about 20 mph, this pushed my car back and made come to a complete stop. I thought nothing of it and kept driving, as I approached a stop sign I go to press my brakes AND THEY FAIL completely there was pressure in the pedal but the bakes would not engage, so I pulled my ebrake. I left the flooded area and my brakes had a hard time engaging. I pulled over turned the car off and turned it back on to reset my ABS and started pumping the brakes. As I drove away I kept slamming on the pedal doing about 10 mph each time and the last time I pulled my ebrake to readjust my drums going about 5mph when I did that I heard this huge pop in the rear of the car and then I drove off pressed the brakes one more time and heard a huge pop in the front and from that point on the brakes were fine, anyone have any idea what this might of been?
Also since there was flooding all over that part of kissimmee I had water flying into my engine bay, and now my belts are making this ridiculous high pitched sound, I left the hood open all night in my garage and left the car on for 30 minutes to dry everything up, now this morning I still get the high pitched sound but not as loud, is this water on my belts or something?? The sound increases when I give the car gas. My filter seemed to have some splashes of water on it and there was water all around the surrounding area, could this be my engine is about to hydro lock or something? Thx for the help guys
wow thats nuts maybe something got stuck in your bakes? i have never heard of that

Yeah freaked me out man^^
As far as the belt goes:
My moms stupid husband decided to throw WD40 on it when i was I wasnt home and the whole belt popped off and flew out the engine bay lol.
I put it back on a few minutes ago and put that spray to stop the squealing because it was ridiculously loud it was embarrasing even, I am just waiting for it to dry and if it still gives me problems tomorrw ill increase the tension on the belts, but the sound it lower now, now it only squeals when im throttling in 1st-3rd gear
Could be a bad pulley, I replaced the tensioner and idler on mine a while back and the squealing is just about gone. If you've got a stethoscope laying around lol or some kind of flexible pipe, put it by each pulley with the engine running and see if you can hear the squealing more at one.
I'd definitely take the intake off and check inside
well when mine almost hydrolocked the motor went into limp mode and sounded like it was chuging along. my CAI sucked up a lil water then i took out the plugs and tryed to crack the car with a towel over the plug holes trying to get the water out. but still sounded like bla so i changed the plugs and did it one more time the next day and it was fine.
5 seconds to find another street...
Since you live in the area, How is the weather? I know about the storms, just wondering how the weather was looking and if things were drying up any. I am going to disney world in a few weeks and hope everything will be okay!
A lot of the times after I drive my car through deeper waters the breaks get really hard to press, it feels like they are doing very little. I have stock everything on my 03 and no abs. I will usually just drive and apply them every once in a while to try to dry them out and it seems to clear up.

might just have water in the bearing of your idler and tensioner. can you increase tension? i thought you couldn't, unless your belt system is different from mine

Well Kissimmee/ORlando saw its first rays of sunshine yesterday, it felt good lol, youll be fine coming to disney
I need to find some where to do my motor swap if anyone wants to help
where are you swapping it at??
I just found out in my haynes manual that there is no way to increase the tension on the tensioner WTF!?
It louder now way louder, everytime I spray that spray on the pulley and belts it stops but then after a few minutes of driving it comes back. I just started it and its waaaaaaaaaaaaay louder. I may be getting a new car this week if I do Ill probably part out skyler
mine squeels evry morning but soon as it warms up its quiet.. been doin it 4 over a year.. if u keep the car jus change the tensioner/pulley
