turbo thermostat housing needed

Hi anyone have a thermostat housing for a sunbird with the watercooled turbo? I'm replacing the turbo, the new one is water cooled and unless I'm wrong, all I'll need to upgrade it is a new thermostat housing with the water fittings...does that sound right?

FYI it's an '86 turbo convertible

Hey Chad-

The t-stat only gets you 1/2 way there. You also need to t-into another line for the coolant flo-through. I still have the oil cooled only so can't help with the routing.

I will keep my eyes open, but the turbo cars are not showing up much now...

Chad, your profile doesn't show a location... PM me with your zippy, and i'll be able to estimate the cost for the ride.

A thought.... when changing to a larger turbo, the steel tubing x-mani is marginal strengthwise at best. Best to use the cast iron version. While this will give you added strength, it will also relocate the turbo up & downpipes, so diff ones are required. There's a post I made, several times, about exactly what's needed, and the angles that are changed in setup.

Hope this helps.................. Alan
