Air filter for 2.0

I've got a big assed K&N cone style filter hooked to my tock intake hose going to my throttlebody because no-one makes a CAI for my car, and I was wondering if anyone has found a filter (perferably K&N) that will fit right to the throttle body and also clear when the hood is closed. (2.0 SOHC MPFI). I'm not sure how restrictive the stock hose is, and if putting a smaller filter directally in the throttle body would counteract any gains, but I know alot of people do this, and was wondering how well it works.

It wont work very well cause your just sucking in all the hot air from the engine, you need a pipe to relocate the filter to a better spot, somewere it can suck in outside air and not just the hot air from under the hood.

plus, on top of cooler air you won't have to worry about hood clearance.
a custom CAI isn't too hard to make nor too expensive. either way you'll have better air flow than hooking it straight to your tb. however, being it's a 2.0 (and we had this debate a while back) a custom CAI won't be AS effective than if you were running a 2.2 or 3.1

make sure you dont leave your sensor hanging. if its not getting an accurate reading of the air coming in your car will start to run like crap.
