Hi I am new to this forums but not to forums in general. I was a long time member of maxima.org forums with 2000+ posts. I own a 94 sunbird 2.0 LE 5 speed and everytime I try to start the car it makes a metal tapping sound but it starts up in less than 5 seconds which I figure is normal. I am thinking this is the starter because when the engine is running it sounded better than my old maxima (a little deeper in the exhaust).

It sounds like the battery is on its way out.

I am going to charge it in the morning to see if that cures it or I can just use the battery out of my maxima that I just bought.
