Just tonight I go out and get in my car, start it, and flick on the lights. Then "pop" goes the 5amp fuse for the dash lights. So I replace it, and imediatly after I turn them on again, it goes again... Everything else works perfect, headlights, park lights, tail lights, everything I can think of except the dash lights... I looked under the steering column for a chafed wire and found nothing out of the obvious. Does anyone know what I can do or try?
Here's the catch, I have a remote starter hooked up (by Canadian Tire) and it just so happened that it gave out a couple of days ago and just stopped working for no reason at all so is it possiable thats the problem... or at least part of it?
I used to have a Dodge van did the same thing. Problem was I could go up in fuse size, only when it popped with a 20amp I lossed my tailights too!!!!
It's a short , where I couldn't even guess, well i would first check the wiring for the remote. If any wires touch pull them a part and see if maybe they melted together. It's a starting point anyhow. Or you could just break the bank and that it to a garage? But, didn't that place that installed the starter give a warranty on their work? Maybe they'll fix both seems how they have to be related. I'd give it a try at least. Later
