that's a volvo turbo made by garrett.

Don't weld it to it. There is a t25-T3 adapter that you can buy off ebay. Doing this you will need to drop the oil fil into the pan also and you may need to notch the cooling fan shroud or move it to the front like mine.

Sorry I meant to say the oil return. The adapter makes the turbo sit lower. I had to buy one to drive my car to where the turbo header was being made. The stock oil return hole is in the side of the block and you need to plug it with a 1/2" npt plumbing plug. The stock turbo being a T25 with the narrow center section is also a problem as a standard T3 center section will be about 3" further to the passenger side.

The last picture shows how much further away the turbo will sit. It will not clear the stock cooling fan which is why I moved mine to the front. I also got more clearance room out of my radiator set-up.

You can clock the compressor without any worries at all. What you may have issues with is clocking the center section to get the oil drain pointing down. It is difficult but by no means impossible.
Some TBO3 turbos also have a different type of turbine flange. They are on manifolds with machined circular grooves inside of them and there is a matching inward groove on the turbo so that there is no need for a gasket. Check that out.
Take a picture if you don't know what I am talking about.
