i have a 3 speed auto on a 3.1 and when i put the car in park and dont use the e brake when the car rolls back a bit in park the tranny makes sort of a vibrating noise if you put it in neutral it stops just wondering if anyone else ever had this problem.
My sunbird used to do that but it stopped once i started putting on the e-brake than putting it in park. try that.

does the car roll back a bit and make a clicking noise, then it doesnt roll anymore??? if thats what it doing, thats 100% normal. all vehicles do that.
no its not like that, it makes a vibrating/grindy sounding noise.
could it be a linkage mis-adjustment?

That is exactly what it is i dont think gm would do anything about it now though or if there is anything i can do about it.
thanks for the help! I will have to get a mount I guess hopefully not to expensive or i will get a used one

have you had this problem before?
Its actually a common thing for the auto equipped cars, both in park and in drive at a stop sign or red light. I had the problem until I replaced the mount.
I wouldn't recommend a used mount, since it will be worn just like the one in the car now. New ones are around $20.
thanks if they are cheap enough i will replace the others also its an annoying problem hopefully they arnt much work to change, never done one before thanks again.
