i was wondering if the 2.0 turbo engine out of a 89 sunbird will fit in a 2000 sunfire gt??
Requires you to fabricate mounts. Dont even know what to do about the CVs...
Not really worth it, IMO...Id put in an Ecotec or a v6...
the reson i was thinking this is because my buddy is selling his 2000 gt its a nice car and it has everything done to it u can think of but it has a stock twin cam,i have a 89 sunbird turbo with a modded engin but nothing for looks as far as the body or inside i can get his car for a good price so i would like to put my engine in his car
not worth the hassle for it. if you like the car, buy it and slap a gm supercharger on it, and you have the looks and power.
There's also the problem of the engine not really being compatible with the 2000 pcm without modifications.
Another vote for Ecotec.

if it has a 2.4 your good to go hp wise. the only thing better then a 2.4 is a 3400 or ecotec i myself and partial to the eco

i use to have a 03 sunfire with a ecotec i didnt really like it and it didnt have the balls my 2.0 has
ues but you are comparing a 2.2l n/a with 140hp to a 155hp (stock) turbo 2.0l. of coarse the turbo car will be wave more balls, and they are lighter than a 3rd gen aswell. but take and turbo or supercharge an eco to put it on the same level with the 2.0l turbo and itll kick its ass.
buy my 89 Sunbird GT Convertible. it needs a motor.

i don't want another sunbird i have one in good shape i was just toying with the idea of putting my engine in a sunfire because it has all the stuff done to it but no engine work and my sunbird has lots of engine work but nothing else...take the 2 cars and make a complete one try something different the look of a sunfire with the power of a turbo sunbird
