I know alot of people vote against glasspacks, but I am going to but one on my Cavi, and I want to know two things:
Length wise: Is shorter better for backpressure or longer?
Performance vs sound: which will sound deeper short or long , and what are the performance gains or losses that will occur. I have searched for answers to my questions and none have addressed these 2 .
I don't know j-body's yet........but I will!
WELL SHORTER WILL BE BETTER FOR BACKPRESSURE I'M NOT SURE ABOUT SOUND. YOUR BEST BET WOULD BE TO GET THE 'ONE IN THE 'MIDDLE ' FOR ARGUEMENTS SAKE AND TO MEET A HAPPY MEDIUM
AND DON'T WORRY IF ITS NOT AS LOUD AS U EXPECTED WHEN YOU FIRST INSTALL IT, BECAUSE IN 2 WEEKS IT'LL BE A LOT LOUDER
People say that what doesn't kill you in this life
will make you stronger. I'm not sure if that is true
or not, but i do know one thing-You have to learn from
it and it has to make you better.......it has to.......
if i remember correctly the shorter it is the louder it is

Thanks guys I am buying a 17" cherry bomb this weekend since I need to pass inspection next week, and its not hard to cut the bad one off, and slip fit and clamp a cherry bomb on there til after inspection if it blows out.

My friend has 89 2.8L v6 auto cavalier with 2 cherry bomb glass packs it sounds pretty good, the are both 17incher's, Exhaust sounds a bit louder, Even with a stock muffler those cavy's got that rumble sound. He went through Emission testing with no problems.
i run a glass pack as a resinator between my cat and my muffler...
i gained HP due to increased back pressure
it quieted down the muffler but added more a a deep tone to it...
im happy with my set up...
i would say mine is about a 12 - 15" long...
