My friend just called and is in desperate need of help. She needs to be home on thursday (its a 6 hour trip) So shes leaving tomarrow. However, she used the ebrake on her 99 Blazer and when she went to release it, nothing. The handle has no tension. So from what shes telling me the cable either came off or snapped.
The only tow truck we can find that will tow it before tomarrow night wants 200 bucks to tow it 7 miles for "emergency towing" not that it matters cause theres no shops that will look at it untill early next week.
I figured well theres got to be a way to either
A. Trace the cable back from the handle and pull on the mechanism itself, or
B. manually release the break.
Just incase when i get there i cant find the cable or its broken back to far, do any of you how to do the above? I mean where are the locking mechanisms. Thanks
The racheting thing on the brake might have sook a crap on her. i hope yall get it fixed
there this is better. i hope
ok and why cant you drive it without an ebrake??
oh i get it.. its stuck on.lol well drive with it on its cheaper then 200.00 to replace the brakes lol either way there has gotta be some kind of way on the back that u can release it somehow i would imagine
Do not drive with back brakes locked like that. That's just stupid. You should be able to reach behind the back wheels and just cut the cable for now. It's not that big of a deal.
