Is it the plastic piece that goes on top of the coil spring with the upper insulator ??
Strut Nut
Strut Mount and Bearing Kit
Spring Seat + Insulator
Coil Spring
Strut
Boot + Bumper
Lower Insulator
The reason why I'm asking is because 2 weeks ago I installed everything new: mounts, AGX struts, boots etc. The only thing that I didn't repace was that plastic piece that goes on top of the coil spring before you put the mount on.
I'm getting a creaking sound when I turn my wheels. What is causing that noise? I
think It might be that piece.
the spring seat also known as the spring isolators go at the bottom of the spring.
between the spring and the strut.
Nooo.... The spring seat is not an insulator. Also
isolating your springs would be a bad thing.
The spring seat goes on top of the spring (with insulator) and below the bearing.
It wouldn't creak, but the bearings might. I always rebuild the bearing if I take that stuff apart. Just a quick disassembly, cleaning, new grease; keeps those annoying creaking problems away.
If the sound is more metalic it might be the spring insulator too.
