air switches - whats the difference??
Wednesday, June 28, 2006 6:42 AM
im just curious what the difference is between the 10 switch toggle switch boxes(which i have) and the 9 switch rocker switches?? whats the difference in movement options?? and are they smoother? im just curious because the 10 switch toggles i have have a tendency to stick, or are hard to flip, etc. and it gets annoying. not to mention the box is massive, where as the rocker boxes are nice and small.

just curious if anyone has personal experience with both. any info is appreciated

I don't have experience with rockers vs toggles as far as air ride goes, but I do for other applications.

In my truck, the fuel tank switch used to be a toggle. Same problem you had.

Switched that to a rocker and it is alot smoother, no sticking.

I'd go with the rockers (plus with the box being smaller..)

I'm having the same problem you are with the switchbox.. a couple of my switches are sticking really bad, and one of them actually moves to the left and right a little. I'm thinking a wireless remote or a playstation controller looking thing.. I haven't tried rockers, I would assume they're smooth and wouldn't get stuck as easy.

The AVS switchboxes are 10 times better than the regular 10 switchboxes, and that's why there is a cost difference.

You can work a better see saw with the AVS box. I never liked having it work in sinc. I liked doing more of a wave motion.

I used to let everyone use my AVS to play with my cavy. Everyone loved it. You just cant beat them. ANd they are tiny and not so crappy looking sitting in the car. Mine came out from under the front of the seat and stayed nice and out of sight.

Now I guess I have a good reason to buy something else like that.

It comes with a lock and keys too. Speaking of Security #1!

I would get the 9 switch and not the 7 switch. It has a relay box built in on the end of the cord to hide under the seat with a fuse and a hook up for dumping the air with alarm. Pluss those extra switches make hitting nasty side to sides real easy.
