Everytime i start up my car and drive, the first time i hit the brakes it feels as if my car is jumping. it'll try to grip but slide while trying to grip the road. it may be the tires have no more tread and i need new ones, but after driving about 5 minutes they work fine. anybody know what the problem may be?

rear drums usually get a little rust on them, then grab and lock up until the rust polishes off.
oh ok thanks...i gotta take a look....any way to get rid of it?
Rear drums need to be cleaned. Take the wheel off, take the drum off (usually rusted on and shoes get stuck in groves in the drum), then use 1/2 a can of brake cleaner. Aren't drums fun?
