TEIN 2" SHORTER Springs Installed!!
Friday, July 14, 2006 5:55 PM
Well I finally got around to doin this today.. I bought 2" shorter springs that came with my Tein basic dampers.. I did not like the wheel gap that came with the rear coilover system.. So I contacted Jason at A+ and he sent me these.. I have some camber in the back now but thats because I have them all the way slammed right now.. Im going to raise them up tomorrow a couple threads..

Thanks Mat(Whinin) for the help

Here you can see Mat can fit 4 fingers in the rear with the springs that came with the coilovers.

Here you can see the difference

The after install, here Mat has 1 finger in between, but when we brought the car out on my driveway he couldnt get ANY fingers in between.. Of course, this is all the way slammed..

Finish results!! No more raked look hehe.

Comments, questions?

are those meant to be coilovers or are they just springs.
Also woudl the ride be better with these if you kept the control arms parrallel or would it jsut bte the same

Yes their meant for the Coilovers, their just 2" shorter.. The ride will be better once I raise them up, I raised them 8 threads this morning and its still stiff.. So im going tor raise the rear again tomorrow or so for more comfort.

me=jealouse!!

Looks great bud! Does it ride just as well with the shorter ones?

I decided against them. I am sitting a bit too low front and rear, at least when it comes to autox. so i probably wont get the shorter springs.

Nick, all the way slammed in the rear is too bouncy for me.. But I raised them 8 threads and it feels like it does when I had the 2" TALLER springs.. Im going to raise them some more because I can still only get 1 finger in the gap.

If your not going for looks, then Id say dont bother ordering these, the ones you have now are fine.. But since I do car shows and stuff Ill need to slam mine when those events come..

Youll have to do what I did and find out which lower springs you can buy with your setup.. Contact Tein directly, or contact Jason at a+ performance..

Yes. For some reason David's and JoeDM's sit a little higher in the rear than mine do. Although I have 225/50/16s on mine and they might be a little taller. But the rear of the teins dont sit "very low". Mine are about two fingers in the rear.

Exactly man, apparently Tein just wanted us to buy shorter springs because they knew the springs that come with the basics aren't very low at all

btw, I still haven't raised the rear much more yet, the car is on jack stands because the motor is almost out

so if you get the basics, which im looking at buying, the back sits pretty high still when slammed? so im assuming the front is with the springs provided also, now is the front slammed too in your pics?

second, so if i want the back of my car to sit lower like yours i have to get shorter springs for the coilovers?

happy happy joy joy

Yes, still sits high when slammed.. Depending on the size of your fingers lol you can get 2-4 fingers in the gap all the way slammed.. I could get 3 in the gap. If you want it lower than that you will have to purchase the shorter springs like I have pictured up there.. Then again, the gap size also depends on how big the tires are that your running.. Regardless you'll get the tall springs once you order the basics, slam them all the way and see how you like it.. If you want to go lower then, yea you'll have to purchase the shorter springs..

The 2" shorter springs I just bought for the rear, are the same springs that actually come with the front basics

In my pic up there, the fronts have 4 threads left before its slammed ALL the way.
