I know that when you lower our cars, you should buy new struts. I have a set of Tein H-Tech springs that I got a really good deal on and I am considering putting them on my car next week.
Question is:
Since these springs are such a slight drop (1"), can I run the car for a while on stock struts? I only ask because my car does not get driven all that much anymore anyway. I do plan on getting new struts somewhere down the road, but I figured I'd put them on for now since, as I said, the car does not get driven all that much anymore and I got such a great deal on these things.
Thanks
You can put them on stock struts. They'll last a year or so, maybe.
I would save the trouble and extra cost and just wait myself. It's going to cost ~$70 for an alignment, if you put the springs on now, and the struts later thats twice you'll have to pay.
KYB GR2s or Tokico HPs would both work well with the H-Techs.
You can ride with them but it will not last as long as with stock springs. But like he ^ said save some $$ and do it all at once. Besides i will tell you this... stock shocks has nowhere the control then what you'll find on a reputable sport shock/strut setup.
I was on AGX with stock springs before. What a control it had.
I will say this, if you want boulevard ride (Lincoln Town car ride) stay with the stockers.

A friend of mine has h-techs and that's the biggest 1" I ever saw as far as the front goes. Looks a little lower than my suspension techniques 1.2" drop.
thanks guys...
I did some thinking over the weekend and decided that I am either going to sell the springs (since they are brand new), or just wait till i can get shocks later on.
